The internet is a place where everybody gives most of their personal data to various parties. Each and every person in this world may have their own personal data. Asking somebody their religion is a sore thing with most people as it is something they protect from the world, and some even fear harm by revealing their religion.

The race is another thing which can lead to criminal offenses. In this case however, it won’t require a personal data record to show which race you belong to. How To Reduce Waste While On Vacation

When you go on vacation you can generate a lot of trash and not even be aware of it.  It does not matter if you go to a hotel, or driving an RV, or flying.  If we plan our vacations and trips well, and make a few changes, you can avoid a lot of trash and make your vacation a green one.

When you book your hotel room or campsite, make sure they are environmentally friendly.  Let the hotel know that you do not want your sheets and towels changed every day.  Take shorter baths and showers to save on water.  When you leave the hotel for the day make sure that the television, the air conditioning and lights are turned off.  If you do not use the little bottles of shampoo, conditioner and lotions, leave them there for the next guest to use.

Avoid things that are disposable whenever possible by bringing things from home with you.  Reusable bags, coffee mugs and storage containers would be things that you can use that would not be disposable.  Bring lightweight plastic plates and eating utensils instead of paper plates.  You can wash those and reuse them several times before they need to be thrown away.  If you will be doing your cooking, pack a cooler with fruits and veggies that do not have to be packaged or use reusable storage containers.  During the year when you eat fast food, save your little packs of extra ketchup and mustard and use those on your trip.

Going on the water?  Gas your boat while it is on land rather than in the water.  This keeps the rivers and lakes from becoming polluted.  Choose to walk or bike instead of driving and use public transportation when you can.  All these little things can add up and reduce your waste during your vacation.

What Is Data Pollution?

Is Data Pollution even possible?  Yes, it is very real and happening right now in every state in America and throughout the world.  We are in an age where we send files and create files on our computers every day.  And we do not even think about it when we are doing this.  So, how does it get in the air?  Well, let’s look at how we expel it in to the air, because it really makes sense when you think about it.

You lose it through the fan on your laptop or desktop.  Wireless internet and Bluetooth loses it through the air on radio waves when it is too far apart from its main source and the signal is not so good.  Other forms of Data Pollution would be misspelled words, design flaws in websites, and invalid character types.  Like all waste, there are proper ways of disposing of the data waste.  You will not be able to get rid of all of the leaks, but you can eliminate most of them.

I mean these pollutants are going into our landfills as well as in our water.  When it gets to a toxic level, we are talking about these files getting into other components and corrupting them.  To name just a few, air traffic controllers and police computers, things we definitely do not want corrupted.  I know it seems like a science fiction movie, but where do you think these files stay, in computer space?  No, they leak out into our air.

When you send files through email, wireless internet, Bluetooth, radio and television signals, it releases small quantities into the atmosphere.  In small doses it is perfectly safe to do this.  However, millions of Americans sending and duplicating files every day really add up.  And the limits are getting high.  In several years we could be at dangerous, toxic levels.

1. YouSendIt

If you’re looking to send one file, of less than 100 megabytes, once, to one person, as quickly and easily as possible, this is probably your best bet. YouSendIt is a website that lets you upload your file to their servers for seven days and receive a link to the created download location. All you have to do from there is send the link in your email.

2. FTP

If you have larger files that you want to send, are sending more than one, need the files to be available long-term, or simply want more control over the system, it’s a great idea to use an FTP Client. To complete this process, you will need to have access to some form of web storage space. Additionally, you’ll need an FTP client.

While experts at this will probably have their own preferred program, we recommend FileZilla for beginners, since it’s compatible with all operating systems and is free to use.

Once you connect your client to your web space, just upload your file or files and provide appropriate links to recipients.
3. Dropsend

If you’re going to be sending especially large files on a regular basis, but you don’t have web storage space, Dropsend is going to be your most likely alternative. This desktop client allows you to send files as big as two gigabytes in size.

Dropsend has a free trial, but long term use will require a (reasonably priced) subscription.

4. TransferBigFiles

If you’ve got a bunch of big files that need to be transferred in the most secure manner possible, TransferBigFiles is the most robust option for that need.

You can password protect every file you send (and each file can be up to a gigabyte in size), send files securely to multiple recipients simultaneously, and you will receive an email notification once the file has been downloaded.

5. Google Docs

Google Documents is a good tool for those who have just a few files that they want to upload for permanent access. It’s fairly simple to set up, doesn’t require a lot of tech knowledge, and provides up to a gigabyte of storage space.

You just load the files into the documents server, set the privacy settings for the file to “public,” and share the generated URLs with intended recipients.

In 1981, Bill Gates said “Nobody will ever need anymore than 64k of memory.” Shockingly, he was proven wrong. As common file sizes grow, so do the need for large file transfer solutions. The five options above should have you covered — at least until files start breaching into the land of terabytes.
